A deeply personal documentary on loss, identity and growing up without a father. Over the course of 1.5 hours Margie, Omar and Angie are young adults from diverse cultural and social backgrounds. They invite viewers into their childhoods and family dynamics. They speak openly about loss, rejection and the absence of their father. They reflect on how these experiences shaped their mental health, identity and journey into adulthood. For some young people paternal absence can contribute to depression and suicidal thoughts. Fatherless offers an intimate and honest look at the emotional realities of growing up in a difficult home environment.
